Q. I am nervous about injectables, can you tell me what to expect?

First time injectable appointments typically take anywhere from 60-90 minutes based on the areas that will be treated. Your injector will consult on your areas of concern and provide a recommended treatment plan to support you in reaching your aesthetic goals.

Your provider will typically apply a topical numbing solution to make the process more comfortable. Once the solution has begun to work, your provider will remove the topical solution, sanitize the area and mark the injection sites.

When the injections occur most patients say they experience a small poke and a bit of pressure, however it is bearable. Should you experience pain or discomfort notify your provider immediately.

Following your treatment you will be provided with ice packs to enhance your post treatment comfort. You will want to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and most providers will recommend that you avoid alcohol for 24 hours following your service to achieve optimal hydration.

Another tip is to sleep at an upright angle for the first night to reduce swelling and allow the fillers to settle into place.
